A custom secular version of Mizpah

I've received a request from a customer in the US to design a peace of jewelry for his loved one. A jewel that would symbolize their love, and the difficult year that past on his partner due to his mother's death, and a long separation due to overseas service.
Something similar to a MIZPAH, and the spiral I had engraved on a previous piece.
I've never came across this word MIZPAH, and before I return to the client with ???.
A Google search revealed a whole world of divided pendants engraved with biblical text. The biblical story of Jacob and Laban, making a pile of stones marked an agreement between two people, with God as their watching witness.
“The Lord watch between you and me, when we are absent one from the other. "
In Israel, in Hebrew there is no such pendant as far as Google and number of jewelers I have asked knows.
Mizpah symbolizes the bond between people over distance and beyond life.
I was looking for a source of inspiration, a point of reference from which to design this unique piece of jewelry. I've turned to the poetry of Paul Celan, since his poetry deals with the loss of a mother and separation, and is very close to my heart
I marked a few songs but one particular song stood out - 'So many constellations' from 'Die Niemandsrose', specially the last lines from the closing stanza -
'and at times when
only the void stood between us we got
all the way to each other.'
After the client read the poem and loved it, I've started to design the mizpah. One peace of jewelry that is whole but also divided to two separate stand alone peaces, yet incomplete.
A peace of jewelry that contains a story, that is made of layers of the past and the time to come, and yearning to unite.
קיבלתי פניה מלקוח בארה"ב לתכשיט עבור בן זוג אהוב, ליום ההולדת .
תכשיט שיסמל את אהבתם, ואת השנה הקשה שעברה על בן הזוג עקב מות אימו, ולקראת פרידה ממושכת עקב שרות מעבר לים.
משהו בדומה ל MIZPAH , והספירלה שחרטתי על תכשיט קודם.
מעולם לא נתקלתי במילה הזאת MIZPAH, ולפני שאני חוזר ללקוח עם ???.
חיפוש בגוגל חשף עולם שלם של תליונים חצויים שעליהם חרוט טכסט תנכי. פסוק מברית בין הבתרים מספר בראשית -
"וְהַמִּצְפָּה אֲשֶׁר אָמַר, יִצֶף יְהוָה בֵּינִי וּבֵינֶךָ: כִּי נִסָּתֵר, אִישׁ מֵרֵעֵהוּ."
בעברית, בארץ לא קיים תליון שכזה ככל שגוגל או מספר צורפים ששאלתי יודעים. מיצפה מסמלת את הקשר הרגשי העמוק בין אנשים, במיוחד אלה המופרדים על ידי מרחק או מוות.
חיפשתי מקור השראה, נקודת ייחוס ממנה יצא העיצוב לתכשיט ייחודי זה. פניתי אל שירתו של המשורר פול צלאן, כיוון ששירתו עוסקת רבות באבדן אם ובפרידה, והוא קרוב מאד לליבי. סימנתי כמה שירים אבל שיר אחד במיוחד - 'כמה מערכות כוכבים' מתוך קובץ השירים 'שושנת שום איש' - ובמיוחד השורות המסיימות את השיר -
'ולעיתים, כשרק
האין עמד ביננו, מצאנו
את כל הדרך כולה זה אל זו.'
שלחתי את השיר ללקוח, ולאחר שגם הוא התחבר לשיר התחלתי לעצב את המצפה. תכשיט אחד שלם שמתחלק לשני תכשיטים שעומדים בפני עצמם, שלמים וחסרים בו זמנית. תכשיט שהוא סיפור, המכיל רבדים של הזמן שעבר ושעתיד לבוא, וכמיה לחיבור.
צ'אד התרגש מהסקיצות ואישר אותן. עכשיו נשארתי עם האתגר הגדול של העברת הסקיצה, קיו העיפרון הרועד לחומר, לתליון גשמי.
Chad loved the sketch and approved it. Now I was left with the challenge of transformation. Transforming the pencil shivering line into an object.
The final Mizpah, two parts together. The mizpah is made of fine silver and 24K gold, all connected by fusing, no soldering. המצפה המוכנה, שני החלקים ביחד. המיצפה עשויה מכסף טהור וזהב 24קראט, כל החיבורים עשויים בהתכה ללא שימוש בהלחמה.
